Paige Polcene is very happy to be a member of the faculty here at Highland Academy. She has always loved learning and considers teaching her vocation. Ms. Polcene attended the University of California at Riverside, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies (Psychology and Education) and her master’s degree in Educational Psychology. She also did her credential training at UCR.
Over the course of her almost 30 year career, Paige has taught in the public elementary classroom, both as a classroom teacher and as a reading resource specialist, created extensive private learning programs for students at the primary and secondary levels, and taught for several years at the university level (California Baptist University and Oregon State University).
Paige loves language is having a great time exploring it, both in the classroom, and on the stage, as an actor in community theatre. She has been married for 26 years to her fantastic husband, Brad Markin, with whom she has 2 amazing children.
